A gentle Ride along the Western Yar

This route isn’t part of the Red Squirrel Trail, but offers similar easy cycling on the west side of the Island. The ride follows the disused railway from Yarmouth to Freshwater with a short section on-road to complete the route to Freshwater Bay.
The route is mostly flat and the whole former railway section is traffic-free. You’ll get stunning views of the Yar Estuary and be rewarded at the end of your ride with the beautiful cliffs and clear water at Freshwater Bay.
