Lower Hyde is just a few hundred metres from Shanklin Railway Station and town centre with its many shops and cafes. Nearby is the the historic Old Village, fantastic sandy beach and the fascinating Shanklin Chine which links the two.
This point marks the start of a section of former railway line taking you to Wroxall. Originally the line from Ryde to Shanklin would have carried on along this route to Wroxall and then onwards to Ventnor.
