Shanklin Station

Where am I?

One of the key gateways to the Red Squirrel Trail for visitors arriving by train, the trail runs right past the station car park. The map at the bottom of the page shows your current location and the route of the trail. You can get downloadable maps and GPS routes of the Red Squirrel Trail from our downloads page to help you find your way.

What’s nearby?

Shanklin town centre with its many shops and cafes stretched right up to the main entrance to the station car park. Nearby is the the historic Old Village, fantastic sandy beach and the fascinating Shanklin Chine which links the two.

From here you can head down the steps (with a special bike ramp) and cross the road to follow the trail along the old railway line to Wroxall, or head out of the car park and take the left fork to head towards the seafront route to Sandown.
